Vegan Cashew Hot Cacao

Yes it’s most definitely coming into the warmer months…but we can still enjoy a hot beverage upon waking, no matter what the season! There’s that sense of comfort that comes with sippin’ on a hot drink and this one ticks all the comfort and nourishment boxes.

If you’re trying to cut down on coffee or simply don’t drink it, but still crave that creamy rich feel – this beverage is a must-try for you!

It takes a little bit of prep but is well worth it for the thick and creamy superfood latte that you end up with.

Ingredients:

2 handfuls raw cashew nuts

1 medjool date

1 tsp raw cacao

1/2 tsp ginger powder

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp maca powder (optional)

1 cup filtered water

Directions:

1. Place all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth and frothy.

2. Pour your liquid into a small pot on the stove top and heat (on a low heat) for a few minutes, stirring or whisking continuously.

3. Once it’s reached your desired temperature, pour into your favourite mug and enjoy with a sprinkling of cinnamon on top.
