Looking for the ultimate sweet treat for dessert tonight? Look no further, ’cause this toffee apple and pear crumble is gonna give you all the winter feels. Totally warming, slightly decadent and completely delicious, you’ll wonder how you are going to stop at just one bowl….

Toffee Apple and Pears:

100g coconut oil

100g coconut sugar

50g dried dates, halved

4 apples, peeled and cut into eight pieces each

4 pears, peeled and cut into eight pieces each

1 orange, zest and juice

50g buckwheat flour

50g ground almonds

100g oats

1 tsp cinnamon

50g coconut sugar

2-3 Tbsp coconut oil

Optional: Coconut or Greek yoghurt to serve

  1.  1. In a pot heat the apples, pears, coconut oil, coconut sugar, orange zest and juice until the fruit is tender (but not too soft) and the toffee sauce has thickened and become golden in colour.

  2.  2. Mix together the buckwheat flour, ground almonds, oats, coconut sugar, cinnamon and coconut oil to make the crumble mixture, using enough coconut oil to get a crumbly texture.

  3.  3. Put the apples into a large oven dish, sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly on top and bake for around 25-30 minutes at 180C.

  4.  4. Serve with coconut or Greek yoghurt. YUM!
