Spicy Veggie Burger

Serves 2
1/2 packet Ceres Organics Burger Mix
1/4 cup crispy fried shallots 
2 Tbsp mixed black & white sesame seeds, toasted
2 Tbsp coconut oil
2 x Burger buns
1 Tbsp sesame oil
2 Tbsp Soy Sauce

Make the burger patties as per instructions on the packet.

Crush the fried shallots under a heavy saucepan or rolling pin, then mix with the toasted sesame seeds.  This is a crust for the burger patties which will be used after cooking.

Heat remaining coconut oil in a heavy based frying pan to a med-high heat.  Add the burger patties and cook until nicely seared (approx 5 mins on each side), remove and set aside.

Spread a thin layer of coconut oil on the cut side of each burger bun and grill until nicely browned.  

Mix the sesame and soy sauce together and brush over each cooked burger then roll in the crust. Begin to construct your ultimate burger.  We love the following combo;

  • Cucumber
  • Thinly sliced red onion
  • Red cabbage
  • Kimchi Mayo (blend kimchi with a plant based mayo such as Ceres Organics Egg-Free Mayo
