These are really delicious.
To be honest, they came about from a happy accident…I was attempting to make an orange & chocolate (a personal fav) nut bar – which just didn’t work out…So these beauties were invented instead. (I am still working on the bar !)
Just another bliss ball you might think, well think again – these are FULL of flavour and have a lovely crunch from the almonds & cashews.
They’re super nutrient dense and energizing.
The high amount of raw cacao powder present gives each ball a good dose of magnesium, iron, essential fatty acids and antioxidants.
Plus the coconut oil will keep you satisfied and nourished, kicking any sweet cravings to the curb.

1 large cup desiccated coconut
1/2 cup raw cashews
1/2 cup raw almonds
3/4 cup dates (soaked &softened in hot water for 15 mins)
1 orange zested + 1/2 orange squeezed juice
2 tbsp raw cacao powder (heaped)
2 tbsp raw coconut oil ( heaped & melted )
2 tbsp raw cacao nibs (optional)
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of cinnamon
Pinch of salt
~ Firstly ground the almonds & cashews in a food processor until chunky and chopped (nice to have a few bigger pieces).
~ Create a ‘date paste’ by mixing dates in the food processor with a tablespoon or two of the date water.
~ Combine ALL ingredients in a bowl until a lovely sticky mixture forms and then use your hands to mould & roll into balls.
~ Place these in an airtight container in the fridge and enjoy when you need a sweet fix.
These should keep for a week or two if kept cool…
