Kale is touted as one of the greatest superfoods out, a nutritional powerhouse AND the food with the most nutrition per kJ of energy out of all foods. Fair to say that this super green is packed to the max with important nutrients and is one of the world’s healthiest foods! Here are five great benefits of adding kale to your diet…
Kale is one of the few foods you can consume to obtain good amounts of vitamin K in your diet. Vitamin K is great for developing and maintaining strong & healthy bones because it acts as a modifier of protein in your bones, improves the absorption of calcium and also reduces bodily excretion of calcium. Low intakes of vitamin K have been associated with brittle bones and a higher risk for bone fracture. The benefits of vitamin K don’t stop there… It has also been linked to improving symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease.
