How To Amp Up Your Morning Oats

Let’s face it, the weather has turned and although it’s still technically autumn, we are all very aware that winter is fast approaching. One of the best things about the colder months (in our opinion!) is being able to enjoy a warming bowl of porridge every morning. Oats make the perfect breakfast option as they are delicious, filling, versatile and nutritious. They are packed with a type of dietary fibre called beta-glucan which is known to help lower levels of bad cholesterol in your body and contain a number of important minerals such as manganese, selenium, phosphorus, magnesium and zinc.

Cinnamon works great in pretty much any oat situation as it has a naturally sweet taste. It is also high in antioxidants and contains anti-inflammatory properties, making it the perfect addition to your winter breakfasts!     Adding a tablespoon of ground flaxseed to your porridge each morning can be a great way of amping up the nutritional benefits of your breakfast.
