A Morning In Her Shoes – Olivia Scott

It’s been said time and time again that attaining a morning ritual or taking solo time before the pressures of the day begin, can truly help success, productivity and happiness. 

Call us nosy, but we’ve always been curious about how other people spend their mornings before they arrive in the public eye, polished for their day.  

We wonder, what did they eat for breakfast? Did they meditate? Did they stretch? Did they hit snooze? Did they have to only worry about themselves or a family…? So many curious questions!

Follow along as we step into the mornings of a wide range of successful ladies from all over and to uncover what habits put the spring in their morning step…

This week we’re graced with the beautiful and inspiring Olivia Scott, face behind the revolution that is The Raw Kitchen.

This lady is founder of the incredibly popular eatery The Raw Kitchen and co-founder of Well+Good Juice. She’s also recently launched her debut cookbook The Raw Kitchen, and is currently completing her Nutrition studies. With so much success under her belt already…we wonder, how does this superstar start her day? 

Tell us, what does your morning look like as you roll out of bed… what rising rituals do you have that keep you on top and in the game?

I have recently moved from Ponsonby to Matakana, so my routine has changed a bit now that we are an hours drive North. I have finally found my groove that keeps me energized and focused throughout the day.

Upon rising…

I wake up at 4.45am, have a big glass of water and jump in the car with my gear for the day. Usually I am either in meetings or am spending the day at Wellpark College, studying in my final year of Nutrition.

What do you drink?

Once I arrive in Auckland at 6am, I enjoy a coffee at The Raw Kitchen. I then head to a yoga class at Studio Red at City Works Depot.

What do you eat?

After yoga, I sometimes treat myself at Major Sprout or and have Matcha Muesli or an Acai bowl. Otherwise I head back to The Raw Kitchen for a smoothie or granola. If I’m at home, I have oats or grain free toast.

How do you move?

Yoga keeps me moving, otherwise I like to take my dog, Luca, through some tracks around Matakana or Omaha.

Do you have a practice of stillness or quiet?

I usually meditate once a day, for 12 minutes.
