Jordan Rondel

It’s been said time and time again that attaining a morning ritual or taking solo time before the pressures of the day begin, can truly help success, productivity and happiness.

We are fascinated about how other people spend their mornings before they arrive in the public eye, polished for their day.

We wonder, what did they eat for breakfast? Did they meditate? Did they stretch? Did they hit the snooze button? Did they only need to worry about themselves or a family? …So many questions!

Follow along as we step into the mornings of a wide range of successful ladies to uncover what habits put the spring in their morning step…

This week belongs to the lovely Jordan Rondel, found of The Caker, the incredibly delicious and wholesome cake business.

I am Jordan Rondel, 27 years old, and owner / founder of The Caker – a made to order cake business with a line of luxury baking mixes.

Tell us, what does your morning look like as you roll out of bed?

I consider myself a morning person, but the thought of coffee is what really pulls me out of bed. I snooze my alarm a few times, then slowly arise, put the kettle on, make a cup of herbal tea and then jump in the shower. While still in my robe, I make my plunger coffee and breakfast and chill for 20 minutes while I flick through emails and Instagram. Then I jump in the car (or walk if it’s a nice day) to go to work where no doubt, I’ll face a very busy day!

Upon rising…

What’s the first thing you drink?

A herbal detox tea.

What’s the first thing you eat?

Almond butter and banana on Vogels.

What’s your favourite way to move your body in the morning?

I love walking to work when it’s sunny. This only takes about 20 minutes but it’s enough to make me alert and ready to face the day.

How important is stillness or quiet space first thing?

So important. I’m not particularly chatty in the mornings!

Describe your ultimate morning. No obligations…?

I find it hugely luxurious to not wake up to an alarm, but once I am awake I rarely ever lie in bed. I prefer to get up and feel the sun on my face.

Please share your favourite breakfast recipe…what’s your go-to?

My favourite breakfast doesn’t require a recipe. All it calls for is beautifully fresh croissants slathered with my grandmother’s apricot jam, Summer berries, and a perfect coffee.
