It’s been said time and time again that attaining a morning ritual or taking solo time before the pressures of the day begin, can truly help success, productivity and happiness.
We are fascinated about how other people spend their mornings before they arrive in the public eye, polished for their day.
We wonder, what did they eat for breakfast? Did they meditate? Did they stretch? Did they hit the snooze button? Did they only need to worry about themselves or a family? …So many questions!
Follow along as we step into the mornings of a wide range of successful ladies to uncover what habits put the spring in their morning step…

Tell us, what does your morning look like as you roll out of bed…
My alarm is set at 6.30am, however I am usually wide awake and ready to go between 5.30- 6.30am (I sleep early!). Before I jump out of bed a skull some water from my bottle and then head to kitchen to make my green drink and lemon water. I’ll then get dressed and either hit the gym (5 mins run from my house) or go for a run. Once I arrive back home I’ll shower, make a smoothie, drink my tea then settle down at my desk to catch up on emails and social media. The rest of my morning is usually spent Skyping my nutrition clients and filming yummy cooking recipes in the kitchen!
What’s the first thing you drink?
Something I have always done for years is start my day with a teaspoon of greens powder mixed with a large glass of water. I chase this up with another glass of warm water with the juice of half a lemon.
What’s the first thing you eat?
The first things I eat is my post-workout smoothie. I love knowing that I am filling my body with loads of different nutrients that I will fuel me through my morning. Right now I am addicted to my cacao smoothie. I blend a handful of kale or spinach, fresh beetroot (always keep a container of grated beetroot in my fridge), a scoop of Nuzest vanilla protein powder, cacao powder, maca powder, frozen banana, ice and water. Yummm!
How do you most like to move your body in the morning?
Exercising in the morning is super important for me. I will always make time for daily dose of exercise no matter what time I have to wake up. If I ever skip my morning workout, I notice my energy levels throughout the day are just not as high and I feel a little lazy (might be a psychological thing haha). I go to the gym 3 mornings a week where I do mostly kettle bell training and high intensity work. On the alternate 3 mornings, I run around Cornwall Park. I love my runs through the park, I find it really makes me feel so grateful and helps me set a positive mindset for the day.
How important is stillness or quiet space first thing?
Having a moment to yourself first thing I think is super important for getting your mindset right for the day. I make sure I take at least 10 minutes each morning when I am drinking my cup of tea to just sit and relax. No phones, emails or any distractions, just myself, my tea and my thoughts.
Describe your ultimate morning, no obligations…
I love my morning routine and probably wouldn’t change much. I do naturally wake up pretty early, to be honest I am a bit of a nana and am asleep at 9pm each night (haha)! I would wake up just before sun rise and head out for a run around the park. I’ll then shower, and sit down on the couch with a blanket, my breakfast smoothie and a cup of tea (chai with a dash of milk). Ahhh bliss ????
Please share your favourite breakfast recipe…what’s your go-to?
A breakfast I absolutely love to share is Chia and Oat Bircher Muesli. It is awesome because you can prepare it the night before, and it is all ready to eat in the morning – perfect for the odd occasion when I do have to run out the door.
