It’s been said time and time again that attaining a morning ritual or taking solo time before the pressures of the day begin, can truly help success, productivity and happiness.
We are fascinated about how other people spend their mornings before they arrive in the public eye, polished for their day.
We wonder, what did they eat for breakfast? Did they meditate? Did they stretch? Did they hit the snooze button? Did they only need to worry about themselves or a family? …So many questions!
Follow along as we step into the mornings of a wide range of successful ladies to uncover what habits put the spring in their morning step…
This week we chat to the lovely Abby Plested, Instagram Mama & Blogger…
“I am a Mother of 2, wife to a complete rockstar and I believe in knowing your truth”…
Tell us, what does your morning look like as you roll out of bed…
Normally a whole lot of hustling to get the kids ready for Huey’s kindy drop off and sending the husband off for his busy day at work.
What’s the first thing you drink?
- Coffee and it will never be anything else.
What’s the first thing you eat?
- I’m really into crepes at the moment!
How do you most like to move your body in the morning?
- A walk to the park is always nice but usually it’s the gym around 10am.
How important is stillness or ‘quiet space’ first thing?
- SO IMPORTANT. I don’t get enough of it but when I take a moment to be still in the mornings – usually hiding from the kids it sets the tone for the rest of the day.
Describe your ultimate morning…no kids, no obligations…
Like all mums will say, a sleep in and breakfast in bed – with my man next to me.
Please share your favourite breakfast recipe…what’s your go-to?
1 cup wholewheat flour
3/4 cup milk of choice
1/2 cup water
A couple drops of vanilla extract
Butter or coconut oil for cooking
Whisk all ingredients together and then heat a little butter or oil in a pan. Take spoonfuls of the batter and cook on each side until desired texture is reached…Serve with your fave toppings…I love banana & peanut butter or straight up PURE maple syrup! Yum.
