It’s been said time and time again that attaining a morning ritual or taking solo time before the pressures of the day begin, can truly help success, productivity and happiness. 

Call me nosy, but i’ve always been curious about how other people spend their mornings before they arrive in the public eye polished for their day.  

I wonder, how did their day start…have they eaten breakfast yet? Did they meditate? Did they already run 8km? Find out…

We will be asking a range of successful ladies from all over to find out what habits put the spring in their morning step.

Tell us, what does your morning look like as you roll out of bed… what habits or rising rituals do you have that keep you on top and in the game?

My mornings start when my 8 month old daughter decides it is day time. Normally this is around 5 – 5:30am. Lucky she’s cute. I start the day by pulling her in to bed with me for cuddles. Such a great mood booster – gets the oxytocin flooding through my body and I’m ready to take on the day.

What do you drink?

A lot of water – I’m breastfeeding, so I need to. Then I’ll have some coconut water kefir, and some kombucha, both of which are wonderful probiotic-rich drinks to help keep my gut (and whole body) healthy.
After breakfast I’ll have an almond milk latte.

What do you eat?

I’m a girl of routine. Most mornings I will have a banana pancake/omelette thingy made with 1 banana and 2 eggs mixed together, check out the recipe below. It is delicious! 

How do you move?

I head out at about 6:30am to take my daughter for a walk and little nap in the pram. I love getting fresh air and heading out into the beautiful surroundings of Wanaka.

Do you have a practice of stillness or quiet?

Hahaha! Did you read the part about me having an 8 month old daughter??  In saying that, I do have a little bit of quiet time and self-reflection while she is sleeping on the walk.

Can you share you favourite go-to morning breakfast recipe?

Here’s the Banana Omelette recipe…

You’ll need:
~ 1 Banana
~ 2 Free Range Eggs
~ Optional fillings: Nuts, Seeds, Cacao Nibs, Goji Berries, Coconut flakes, etc.
~ Optional toppings: Coconut yoghurt, Passionfruit, Berries.
How to:
~ Whisk the banana & eggs together to form a batter. Pour into a hot pan with a little coconut oil or butter.
~ Fill the inside with optional fillers and top with the coconut yoghurt and any other toppings.
~ YUM!
