A morning in her shoes…
It’s been said time and time again that attaining a morning ritual or taking solo time before the pressures of the day begin, can truly help success, productivity and happiness.
Call me nosy, but i’ve always been curious about how other people spend their mornings before they arrive in the public eye polished for their day.
I wonder, how did their day start…have they eaten breakfast yet? Did they meditate? Did they already run 8km? Find out…
We will be asking a range of ladies from all over to find out what habits put the spring in their morning step.
This week we have Hannah Bryan, one of the beauties behind the new superfood smoothie bowl business – Bowl & Arrow…
Bowl & Arrow is Auckland-based and provides lucky customers with beautiful smoothie bowls, filled with delicious nourishing ingredients.
All the bowls are of course vegan, gluten-free, refined sugar-free and full of goodness.
Find them at various Auckland markets, book them in for all your health-conscious catering needs & follow them to watch as they spread the goodness.
Tell us, what does your morning look like as you roll out of bed…What habits or rituals do you have that keep you on top and in the game?
I start my day at 6am on weekdays so coffee is a must for me each morning. Once I’ve had my daily fix, I make myself breakfast and always down a glass of NuZest’s ‘Good Green Stuff’. While the taste may not be amazing the ingredients and benefits make it bearable.
On weekends I enjoy a wee sleep in, followed by my partner and I walking down to our local cafe to get breakfast and coffee – it’s our Sunday ritual.
What do you Drink?
I’ll always make a pot of loose leaf tea and refrigerate overnight. Then I can have iced tea all day – its very refreshing!
Since I’m out the door by 6am I’ll often prepare my superfood smoothie the night before in the Nutribullet and give it one zap before leaving – saves time and still tastes great.
What do you Eat?
My meals vary and depend on how I’m feeling. I do have a few staple items that I eat at least three times a week…
~ Oats mixed with protein powder, mashed banana and 100% nut butter
~ Poached eggs on ‘Loaf’s’ seeded bread with salmon and avocado
~ Bowl and Arrow’s ‘Six Pack’ smoothie bowl
How do you Move?
Last year I went to my first ever yoga class at Om Yoga Studio, it was their opening day and I was keen to give it a try.
10 months later I’m still loving yoga and the approach it offers your body, mind and soul. I feel it’s important to have ‘me’ time and yoga really helps with that.
I try to do yoga 4 times per week and go for walks daily.
Do you have a practice of stillness or quiet?
My quiet time comes at night when I’m huddled up with a good book. I can then relax and really unwind.
