A morning in her shoes…
It’s been said time and time again that attaining a morning ritual or taking solo time before the pressures of the day begin, can truly help success, productivity and happiness.
Call me nosy, but i’ve always been curious about how other people spend their mornings before they arrive in the public eye polished for their day.
I wonder, how did their day start…have they eaten breakfast yet? Did they meditate? Did they already run 8km? Find out…
We will be asking a range of successful ladies from all over to find out what habits put the spring in their morning step.
This week we have the lovely Francesca Fogarty behind Franjos Kitchen.
‘Franjos Kitchen’ is a Melbourne based company making gorgeous healthy lactation cookies and crackers for Pregnant and Nursing Mamas all over. Fran (part owner) is also a Mama to two cuties – a 5 month old and a 3 year old.
Tell us, what does your morning look like as you roll out of bed, what habits or rituals do you have that keep you on top and in the game…?
Well I have a little five month old bubba who usually wakes me up demanding a feed so I usually stay in bed another thirty minutes feeding her. It’s actually a pretty nice way to wake up. Depending on how many times I was up the night before with the baby and my 3 year old, I either bounce out of bed or roll out like a zombie.
What do you Drink?
A big glass of water and a very hot weak English breakfast tea.
What do you Eat?
I am a total creature of habit! In winter I (usually) have porridge with homemade stewed fruit and natural yoghurt. In summer it’s (usually) homemade muesli with yoghurt and fresh fruit. My muesli is pretty boring and depends on what I have in the cupboard but it’s mainly oats, almonds and pumpkin seeds and sometimes some dried fruit. About twice a year I go all out and make a fancy muesli but I don’t have as much time as I used to!
How do you Move?
I have a big labrador who needs a daily walk and two little kids so we spend a lot of time walking around our neighbourhood. I also try to go to a PowerFlow Yoga session once a week at least and I try to go for 3-4 solo walks where I can get my pound on!
Do you have a practice of stillness or quiet?
Yoga is my quiet time. However every day I write in my notebook, usually plans, dreams and endless endless lists. It helps clear my head.
Can you share you favourite go-to morning breakfast recipe?
No recipe required, but you can’t beat: Poached eggs, Avocado and Goats Cheese.
I have that at least twice a week!
