It’s been said time and time again that attaining a morning ritual or taking solo time before the pressures of the day begin, can truly help success, productivity and happiness.
Call me nosy, but i’ve always been curious about how other people spend their mornings before they arrive in the public eye polished for their day.
I wonder, how did their day start…have they eaten breakfast yet? Did they meditate? Did they already run 8km? Find out…
We will be asking a range of successful ladies from all over to find out what habits put the spring in their morning step.
This week with Hannah Rogers…
This week we have the lovely Hannah Rogers behind the iconic lifestyle blog, The Modern Girl….Enjoy as we sneak into her morning rituals.
Tell us, what does your morning look like as you roll out of bed… what habits or rising rituals do you have that keep you on top and in the game?
I make my mornings easy by having my clothes already laid out. May it be my morning workout gear or my office outfit for the day but the night before I get it all ready. It just makes it one less thing to think about. I also have my lunch bag prepared ready to add in my refrigerated items and go.
What do you drink?
I usually start my day with a big glass of water. Following this if I have kicked off with a gym workout then I will have a protein shake. I am working hard to build muscle right now and am trying to get in all the protein I can get. At the moment I am enjoying ‘Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey protein’ in Vanilla Ice Cream Flavour.
What do you eat?
I follow a nutrition plan provided to me by Sheena Jayne Fitness. She is a bikini pro and I am considering competing myself. In the meantime I just want a bikini body!
I eat a lot and try and keep it as clean as possible. Mornings start off with either protein
pancakes, oats and peaches or vogels and avocado. I try to mix it up but Oats are my main go to.
How do you move?
I move a lot! I try to do 30 mins of exercise a day even if it’s just a light walk at lunch time. Walking and exercising makes me really happy. Gives me my ‘me time’.
Do you have a practice of stillness or quiet?
This I am not so good at all. One of the reasons I like to go to the movies a lot. It often
switches off my brain and helps me relax. I also have a nice area in the corner of my
bedroom I like to go to, to relax, read, or just lie in the sun.
Can you share your favourite go-to morning breakfast recipe?
~ 40g rolled oats – cover with water and cook in the microwave.
Top with the following ingredients and mix well to enjoy…
~ 1x scoop of protein power
~ Chopped peaches
The cinnamon helps keep those sugar cravings at bay and the protein powder helps to keep me full for longer. It sounds gross but I am addicted right now!
