Two Raw Sisters – Rosa & Margo Flanagan

We’re obsessed with hearing about what other people eat all day everyday and we just know that you’re all as curious as we are! There’s something so intriguing about knowing the secrets of a healthy foodie. Follow along with this series where we find out what a wide range of successful health-loving ladies eat in a day.

This week we chat with the Two Raw Sisters – Margo & Rosa Flanagan

People often have the perception that plant-based foods contain expensive ingredients as well as recipes that are time consuming and difficult to make. Two Raw Sisters have a strong focus on educating people on how easy, sustainable, delicious, and health-enhancing plant based foods can be for them both mentally and physically. Changing your perception on plant-based foods.

Your go-to brekkie is…

Breakfasts are always on the sweet side. It’s never a good day when breakfast doesn’t involve Fix and Fogg Peanut Butter and a banana…

In summer we usually go for a thick (we mean thick) smoothie bowl made with frozen banana, zucchini or cauliflower (add amazing creaminess), PB, spinach, maca and Beefy Greenhemp powder. Toppings are our jam: raw granola, gojis, cacao nibs and extra PB will always feature.

In the winter, smoothies are out of the equation, living in a cold flat your guaranteed to be shivering, have blue lips and be cold for the rest of the day.

We turn to good old oats and make either bircher or porridge. And once again PB and banana will make an appearance.

Your go-to lunch is…

Lunch and Dinner always involve masses of vegetables. We are normally café hopping doing work admin or in between workshops during lunchtime so left overs from dinner are always welcome or we always cook a grain or roast kumera/pumpkin on a Sunday so we can easily put a salad together.

A true favourite and go-to is roasted pumpkin, sesame tahini kale, avo, tomato bombs, crispy chickpeas, beets, kraut, nuts and seeds + nooch (nutritional yeast).

Your go-to dinner is…

We like to change dinners up as it’s a good chance to recipe test for some new recipes for our workshops. At the start of the week we make a meal plan so it doesn’t make the ‘what’s for dinner?’ question stressful.

Our meals are always based around plants and then every once and a while we may add fish or organic meat as a side.

Hands down friyay favourite is miso salmon noodles with Asian greens, nuts and seeds and avo.

Dessert or no dessert…

Hell to the yeah! We tend to go alittle overboard in the dessert department… People often wonder how two little girls can eat so much.

How can you turn down this PB banana slice though?? (contains 2 cups of PB fyi)

What you reach for when a snack attack hits…

Our freezer always has a constant stock of snacks whether it be PB hemp protein bars, PB ginger cookie dough balls or granola oat cookies.

If we are on the go and haven’t got anything on hand a big organic apple always fills a gap.

Your fave foodie destination…

When we were studying at PlantLab Culinary in LA we went to a lot of amazing food destinations. Lodge Bread in LA most incredible sourdough, Sweet Greens was an awesome organic salad bar and was a regular during our jam packed tourist days. But hands down Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is a must visit if your ever in LA or New York.

Three foods you can’t live without…

Avo, banana, peanut butter

Your ultimate foodie indulgence…

A massive ice cream sundae from Van Leeuwen Ice Cream.

  1. The recipe that’ll always get you drooling is…
