There’s something so intriguing about knowing the secrets of a healthy foodie. Follow along with this series where we find out what a wide range of successful health-loving ladies eat in a day.

Today we chat to the extremely talented Sarah Henderson, the face behind @thesaa.rahproject – where she showcases her talent for cooking with whole foods, styling & photography.  We love scrolling through Sarah’s Insta feed!

Sarah Loves food. Plain and simple. The passion started when discovering how exciting, creative and yummy whole foods can be. This recent project is a stunning integration of three of Sarah’s passions; photography, whole-foods and styling.

For Sarah, the project is her happy place; a documentation of her curiosity and discovering of what can be done with nutritious, real food. Most of her downtime is spent exploring in the kitchen or standing over a flat lay with a camera in hand.

  1. Your go-to brekkie is…

Leafy greens, eggs or green pea hummus on homemade paleo toast. My winter version of avo on toast!

Or if I feel like something sweet. A warm gingerbread paleo porridge topped with coyo, nut butter and berries

  1. Your go-to lunch is…

I always make double portions for dinner so we have lunch sorted for the next day! Saves so much time and money!

  1. Your go-to dinner is…

At the moment a hearty winter soup packed with lots of veggies, homemade bone broth and spices or a nourish bowl. I love nourish bowls because you can get creative and switch up the flavours, so many great combos. I usually pick a theme for my bowl like Mexican, Moroccan or Korean etc. My typical bowl consist of:

Green veggies – leafy greens, broccoli, green beans etc. 

Roasted pumpkin, kumara or quinoa

Some sort of protein – beans, chickpeas, chicken, fish, slow cooked meat cooked in the spices to match the theme!

Dressing – from garlic, lemon tahini or tomato salsa – depends on the theme of my bowl!

Nuts and Seeds on top for healthy fats and because they look pretty!

    Dessert or no dessert…

Usually no dessert for me but on the weekend I might have a wee treat!

Obsessed with roasted chickpeas at the moment! Or I would reach for activated nuts!

The Huckleberry Cafe in New Lynn!

Leafy greens, nut butter and apple cider vinegar

Pancakes topped with coyo, paleo granola and berries! Or hazelnut nice cream!

Raw salted caramel doughnuts!
