We’re obsessed with hearing about what other people eat all day everyday and we just know that you’re all as curious as we are! There’s something so intriguing about knowing the secrets of a healthy foodie. Follow along with this series where we find out what a wide range of successful health-loving ladies eat in a day.

Sally is the foodie behind @pusupsandponytails_ sharing all things food and fitness related. She’s passionate about health and exercise and is currently studying Nutrition at The University of Auckland, with the intentions of one day being able to help others through good food. She has completed her first full marathon last year and is approaching her tenth half so it’s safe to say she loves to run.

Your go-to brekkie is…

I love either a hearty smoothie for brekkie or plain old soft boiled eggs on vogels. If I have a full on day at Uni or am away from home for the day,  I go with the eggs as they keep you going for much longer.

Your go-to lunch is…

A big colourful salad with anything I have in the fridge. My favourite go to is chopped spinach, capsicum, grated carrot and courgette with some roast sweet potato and an ACV and wholegrain mustard dressing. If I’m super hungry, I’ll add a can of tuna in there too.

Handy tip for buying fruit and veges: if you can, buy from a green grocer. It’s quite a lot cheaper than regular supermarkets and generally sells in season produce which is mostly grown locally. You reduce single use plastic, support the locals and save money. Big win!

Your go-to dinner is…

A stir-fry. No instructions, just add plenty of veges, herbs/spices, chopped nuts/seeds and some diced chicken or beef. I love using my spiralizer to make zoodles to have with it, or instead have cauliflower rice. You can’t really go wrong with a stir-fry, it’s pretty versatile, meaning you can add anything and everything, use lots of leftovers or change up the flavour.

Dessert or no dessert…

I generally don’t have desert but if I do, it would probably be Lindt dark chocolate. I do try to avoid buying a whole block because I have no self-control when it comes to chocolate and would demolish it!!!

What you reach for when a snack attack hits…

Tom and Luke’s peanut butter bliss balls and mandarins, or cheese and almond crackers. Also, @charliegrbic ‘s epic raw slices, seriously yum!

Your fave foodie destination…

Would have to go with Melbourne, so many cool places to check out there.

Three foods you can’t live without…

Almond butter, eggs, cheese.

Your ultimate foodie indulgence…

Cold vanilla custard! Hands down, the best food ever. I also love Anchor protein+ chocolate milk, I seem to crave this after long runs and it goes down an absolute treat!

The recipe that’ll always get you drooling is…

Anything Asian. Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese etc. Makes me super excited to go travelling to try this type of food!
