This week we chat to the gorgeous Matilda Rice (our fave NZ celeb) about what she eats in a day…

26 year old Matilda Rice is a prominent NZ media personality with over 124,000 followers on Instagram and 33,000 on Facebook, and she runs her blog www.matilda-rice.com. Matilda is currently working closely with significant brands such as Jockey, Colgate Optic White, Ford and Maybelline. Being a fan of the outdoors and travel, she has worked with many tourism boards across NZ and Australia. She is a big fan of keeping healthy and fit and is always looking for ways to promote this lifestyle through her social media.

Your go-to brekkie is…

A smoothie or the old faithful that is scrambled eggs (with some spinach thrown in)! I have a chocolatey smoothie most mornings. The recipe is on my blog but it involves cacao and nut butter so I don’t think I really need to add anything more there. If I’m REALLY running late, I’ll have some CleanPaleo Paleo toast with almond butter as I’m heading out the door.

Your go-to lunch is…

Usually it’s a Plate Up meal, as it’s quick, healthy and makes my life a million times easier when I’m out and about trying to find a healthy lunch. Or if I don’t have a Plate Up meal with me I’m a huge fan of Burger Fuel. A low carborator burger and kumara fries is where it’s at!

Your go-to dinner is…  

If I’ve got time, I like to get creative. Usually a curry, or a delicious piece of organic steak with yummy sauce and veggies. Or if I’m time poor (which is 90% of evenings) I’ll have a Plate Up meal. The Sweet & Sour Chicken is my personal fave.

Dessert or no dessert…  

I actually don’t have much of a sweet tooth, so I will only really have dessert if Art buys chocolate (one of those annoying things that I can’t say no to if it’s THERE though).

What you reach for when a snack attack hits…

Usually bliss balls or cashews, but if I’m having a craving for a salty snack I’ll get corn chips. I have this real thing about corn chips… Like I’m actually obsessed with them.

Your fave foodie destination…

Melbourne!! The best food ever. I love that they have a bit of everything… Great Italian which is my ultimate weakness, and delicious fresh Asian fusion restaurants. It is a food lover’s dream over there!

Three foods you can’t live without…

Kumara; CleanPaleo date and walnut bread; mince.

Your ultimate foodie indulgence…

A date night dinner at Jervois Steak House. The ultimate for delicious food and great wine!

The recipe that’ll always get you drooling is…

Nachos. All day, every day.
