Elora Harre, aka The Shrinking Violet, is a wellness and health blogger who’s popular blog The Shrinking Violet rose to popularity as it followed her 55kg weight loss journey. She talks about food, wellness and all things in between!

Your go-to brekkie is…

Anything egg based! Eggs are the ultimate start to my day. Usually its poached eggs, smoked salmon or bacon, spinach, onions and maybe some homemade mayo or avocado.


Your go-to lunch is…

A big salad bowl. Crunchy lettuce, carrot, tomato, homemade mayo plus protein which is usually pan fried chicken.

Your go-to dinner is…

Some form of protein with vegetables. Roast dinners are my favourite; lamb with crunchy roast kumara and potatoes as well as broccoli.

Dessert or no dessert…

Usually no dessert, but sometimes if I feel like something sweet, I’ll whip up a paleo treat!

What you reach for when a snack attack hits…

I’m such a protein and fat kind of girl – it’s usually something like biltong or biersticks.

Your fave foodie destination…

Locally it’s Hello Sunday – their eggs bene for brunch is insane. Worldwide? It’s gotta be Bacchanal Buffet at Caesar’s Palace in Vegas.. It’s the ultimate foodie destination.
