Danijela - healthy alwaysYour go-to brekkie is…

A smoothie! It always leaves me feeling perfectly fuelled into the morning. I’m constantly switching my blends up (which is probably why I don’t get bored of them), but my base will usually include a fruit, protein powder and then a source of fat, such as avocado, nut butter or nuts/seeds.

Your go-to lunch is…

We have a large onsite organic garden at work so my favourite way to lunch is to waltz on down to the garden, pick whatever is looking fresh and ready, and then pair it with a protein source of some sort (e.g. smoked salmon, leftover chicken from dinner, tinned lentils, boiled eggs…), some wholefood fat (e.g. avocado, olive oil, nuts, seeds…) and then some extra starchy carbs/veggies (e.g. kumara, potato, pumpkin, rice…). My nutrition training can make me a little pragmatic with my food choices. Otherwise I tend to eat leftovers from the night before.

Green Tofu BowlYour go-to dinner is…

Always changing because I love trying out new recipes. Dinner is where I tend to get a little more creative. Lately I’ve been loving trying out more vegan/vegetarian dishes – lentils, chickpeas and beans are so much fun to cook with, and so cheap too!

Dessert or no dessert…

Team dessert. Chocolate is my ultimate soul food – it makes me so happy.

Fruit & ChocolateWhat you reach for when a snack attack hits…

Boiled eggs, nuts, fresh fruit, a quick smoothie or veggie sticks with hummus, pesto or nut butter – yummmm.

Your fave foodie destination…

Bali!! I was there recently and totally had my mind blown away by all of the uber inspiring healthy dishes. California is also amazing on this front. Otherwise, Paris – can’t beat their patisseries.

Muesli & FruitThree foods you can’t live without…

Veggies, avocados and bananas.

Your ultimate foodie indulgence…

Macarons, otherwise a big bowl of handmade pasta in a delish sauce of some sort.

The recipe that’ll always get you drooling…

This Spring Pea & Mint Risotto by Donna Hay – I have made it countless times. So ridiculously tasty.
