We’re obsessed with hearing about what other people eat all day everyday and we just know that you’re all as curious as we are! There’s something so intriguing about knowing the secrets of a healthy foodie. Follow along with this series where we find out what a wide range of successful health-loving ladies eat in a day.

This week we chat with the super-talented sportswoman Anna Harrison.

Former Silver Fern Anna is one of the most dynamic and versatile defender’s netball has seen, covering all three defensive positions. She made her debut for the Silver Ferns in 2002 aged 19 and retired in 2017 with 88 caps to her name. She has played in three Commonwealth Games and two World Cups.  Anna was the first player to attempt & perfect a defensive move of the shot which was dubbed the ‘Harrison Hoist’. She has also represented NZ in beach and indoor volleyball; travelling the world playing on the FIVB beach circuit 2008 through to 2010. She is a mother of two, returning to the Silver Ferns after each child in 2014 and 2016 and has a Bachelor of Physiotherapy.

Your go-to brekkie is…

Porridge cooked with chia seeds dates and/or bananas with nuts and seed topping.

Your go-to lunch is…

Omelette with what ever is in the fridge to use and my Mum’s bottled beetroot.

Your go-to dinner is…

If I have time to make the morning of, I’ll make from scratch, lasagna – kids smash it! But if need a more time friendly meal option, that we all will consume and is healthy, I’ll go for ‘popcorn’ chicken on rice with carrot and edamame beans and Japanese mayo.

Dessert or no dessert…

I grew up with pudding, so I am a fan and have done the same with my kids. It’s often nothing special i.e. fruit and yoghurt. But thanks to my Mum I have a few recipes and semolina and chocolate self saucing pudding are the easiest and our favourite!

What you reach for when a snack attack hits…

Loving hummus and crackers at the moment.

Three foods you can’t live without…

Cheese, coffee, vegetables.
